Beginning on Thursday, November 8, 2018 a Marine Air/Ground unit will flow into the Reno-Stead Airport to conduct some pre-deployment training.
When everything/everyone is here early next week, there will be 10-12 vertical take-off aircraft parking in an area north of the Army National Guard facility along “Taxiway” D.
A C-130 will deliver Marines and supplies at the center ramp at (planned) Noon, Friday, November 9, and make a pick-up at the end of the exercise (to be determined).
During the evening of November 13, the unit will conduct a airborne “raid” in West Reno, returning to Stead by about 11:00 pm.
On the evening of November 15, the main part of the unit will depart Stead on another training activity and not return. The final trail elements with leave Stead on November 16.
If I get info relating to any local flying activity by the Marines during this window, I will update you. Let me know if you have any questions.
