Spring has Sprung!
I guess the winter of 2011-12 will be the winter that never was. We did not have a lot of snow to push around, so the Stead staff was able to get quite a bit of significant house keeping done. Many of you may have noticed the effort to clean up the landscape adjacent to the west end hangars, as well as other efforts to keep our airport in top condition.
We have begun our pavement maintenance program, which includes our ritualistic crack sealing here in the land of shrinking asphalt. As a reminder, please stay well clear of the crack sealing team as they work around the field. Taxiing through hot tar will be detrimental to your aircraft and our efforts to preserve the field. We will also be sealing portions of the ramp and hopefully, runway 14-32. We will also be repainting various airfield markings as time and money allows.
Fire inspections can be scheduled immediately. We want to make sure that we get these done in a timely manner and have all hangars inspected by the end of July. They begin on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Please contact Patti at 775/328-6570, as soon as possible, to schedule your inspection(s). A schedule of available dates for inspections is included with this letter. Patti has also scheduled ABC Fire to come out one day only – as an opportunity for you to get your fire extinguishers serviced on Tuesday, June 12th. ABC Fire will be parked out front the administrative office and you may drop off your extinguisher(s) and $11 fee per extinguisher, prior to Tuesday, June 12th. As always, thank you for your cooperation.
Please remember it is very important for you to update any changes in your tenant/sub-tenant mailing address, e-mail address, or hangar status. Also, it is important for you to have your insurance certificates sent to the Economic Development Department every time it renews. Please send all of your address and e-mail changes to pedgington@renoairport.com and all of your current insurance certificates to tfinley@renoairport.com or fax them to 775/328-6564.
