Stead Taxiway Painting

We are reaching some positive milestones in our construction projects!

Over the next couple of days we are finishing up the parking pad project on the center ramp and getting ready to re-open TWY B and RWY 14/32 full length with no operating constraints. To do this, both contractors will be spraying yellow taxilane paint on TWY A at the center ramp and at the TWY A/B intersection. We need minimal wind, temps over 45, and no moisture to do this, so expect it in the mornings tomorrow and Friday.

The paint dries very fast…minutes…once it is down. The contractors will give way to aircraft, but if you happen to get to a painter and they have just shot some paint, either maneuver around or give it a minute or two to dry. At the same time you may see your Stead staff on TWY A doing some crack filling. Please also maneuver around them.

We are making every effort to keep this as transparent as possible for our pilots, but there is always some “bad” timing so thanks for your patience.

HEADS UP – TWY B will open full length on Friday, June 1 no later than 5:00 pm.  TWY C is also open thru the weekend but closes on Monday, June 4 at 7:00 am.

There will be electrical contractors working along TWY B near the 8/26 intersection for the next week or so, but they will be off pavement and give way to aircraft using B.
