Stead Airport Status – 19 September 2011

Tenant Bulletin

Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority
Reno, Nevada

Date:         September 19, 2011
To:             Stead Tenants
From:       Mike Dikun, Reno-Stead Airport Manager
Subject:   Stead Airport Status

Here is the latest update on the status of Stead as an airport:
>> We are open and operational on all runways for arrival and departure.
>>> The temporary tower will remain in operation through this Wednesday, 0600-2000 daily.
Frequency 133.3. CTAF for all other hours.
>> Tents and vendor booths are coming down, and we have the typical Monday activities as
these folks depart. The no prop line is not in effect, but for your safety, and the folks all over
the field, please exercise extreme caution while taxing your aircraft. I recommend you
scout your taxi route before starting your aircraft.
>> The pit areas are mostly clear, and RARA is working to clear taxilanes first in the west
hangar areas.
>>There is still security at gates 3 and 9 for today, and at 2000, the gates will go back to
electronic time settings.
>> You all should have access to your hangars, but because we are working to keep the site
and field secure, you MAY have hassles from the security folks if you want to come on the
field, unless you still have your tenant credentials from RARA. This will not be the case
tomorrow, as things are definitely winding down. There will still be security at gates 1 and
3. For access, when asked, please let them know your hangar number or aircraft number and
you should be allowed access.
>> NTSB has returned the crash site to the airport. The crash site remains secure from all non
essential personnel. Please do not even try to go near the site. Many people have work
to do there, and your cooperation is needed to help them get it done, so we can get our field
back.

Call the office (328-6570) if you have questions or concerns.
