Within the airport management and safety community, there is a fair bit of effort devoted to runway safety. Routinely I get emails from our Western Region airports shop about vehicle, pedestrian, and aircraft deviations or incursions. Usually I share these with our staff for their training and awarenss.
Today the Runway Safety Office asked me to share a video with you, our flying community, about landing on the wrong surface. It’s particularly applicable if you use RNO frequently, or another airport with parallel runways. I thought the stats were pretty interesting…just not interesting enough to want to become one of the “stats”. Have a look at the attached video for training awareness.
