Reno-Stead Runway Closure 17-23 April 2017 ** UPDATED **

The work on Runway 8/26 has been completed early. This work was originally scheduled thru Sunday.

Stead staff is pulling the lighted X’s and will be rescinding NOTAMs by 1:00 pm local time.

You may notice some 2’x2’ concrete patches near the outer edges of the runway. While this work was going on, Stead staff was also able to do some significant crack filling along the runway centerline.

Thank you for your cooperation that allowed us to get this engineering data that will be needed for planning 2018’s runway reconstruction project.

Beginning Monday, April 17 thru Sunday April 23, 2017 Runway 8/26 will be closed for geo-technical sampling of the pavement cross-section. The purpose of this work is to provide data for designing the runway reconstruction project planned for 2018, so it is critical that we get this done.

Runway 14/32 will be available full length with constrained access using TWY C or TWY A at the south end only.

The attached graphic (below) shows what will be closed and taxi paths to access RWY 14/32.

Because there will be excavations in the runway, we cannot pull the geo-tech teams off for use of RWY 8/26 in any event.

We will attempt to finish this work as quickly as possible and reopen the runway early if we get done.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and recirculate this bulletin to your groups and others who may not be on my list yet. Thanks.

Email me if you have questions.
