Miscellaneous Pavement Work – October 15, 2018

On Monday, October 15, 2018 there will be miscellaneous pavement repairs near the RWY 14/32 intersection and in landside areas to repair construction haul routes.

There will be men and equipment filling runway cracks near the edges of RWY 14/32 for about 30-60 minutes around mid-day. They will not impact use of RWY 14/32 and will be under airport escort.

Behind the grandstands, the contractor will be repairing asphalt where haul trucks drove during the ramp parking pad project. Please use caution driving between the tower area and the hangars behind the grandstands.

Behind the RARA hangar along the National Guard access road, there will be asphalt repairs for the runway project haul route.

I ask Army Guard recipients to share this with their units for the Monday morning commute.

Finally, we MIGHT be doing some asphalt repairs at Gate 180 – the access gate at the RARA hangar. If so, you may have to use the gate by the control tower while we are working there.

As a footnote, your Stead Airport staff will be assembling at 6:00 am next Thursday for a “Final” inspection of Runway 8/26 in anticipation of tuning the runway back over to us for opening. At this inspection we will begin with lighting and paint marking reflectivity, and then transition to a daylight inspection of the runway, taxiway and safety area. We are looking forward to sharing good news with you shortly after this, but ONLY if the runway meets standards!!

Thanks for your cooperation on all this work as we enter the final stretch.
