I have occasionally had questions about the status of the RNO Master Plan that is in process right now. The purpose of this email is to guide you in learning more about where we are with the plan and what the plan is shaping up like, if you are interested.
A new draft chapter was just posted called Airport Alternatives. This chapter discusses how the future RNO airport could look and layout, based on projected growth, uses and changes. You can find this, and other draft chapters, at this link: http://www.renoairport. com/airport-authority/ supporting-community/airport- plans/master-plan/master-plan- draft-chapters
There have been a series of public meetings where people can learn about and discuss the Master Plan, ask questions, and share feedback. The next is Public Information Meeting –No. 4 – is currently scheduled for Thursday, May 24, 2018, with a focus on: Ultimate Development Concept, based on recommended projects, and associated financial plan for funding. Check out this link for more about the meetings: http://www. renoairport.com/airport- authority/supporting- community/airport-plans/ master-plan-meetings
While many of you getting this message are perhaps closer to and more interested in our Reno-Stead Airport, you and your families will certainly have occasion to use RNO in the future, too. How the airport shapes up for both commercial aviation and General Aviation should interest us all since aviation is such a cornerstone in our lives.
Please have a look and, as always, drop a note to me if you have questions.
