2019 Air Race Tenant Bulletin

This is a MUST READ and SHARE.  I know it is long but open and read the attached letter. It serves to set the framework for operations before and during race week.

In an attempted improvement, I added a one page RTS tenant “cheatsheet” that summarizes impacts and instructions day-by-day.  I will have copies of this printed out in the Stead Terminal Admin Offices and Pilots’ Lounge.  I’d appreciate feedback on this…helps, don’t care, doesn’t work, etc.

For our tenants, note the instructions for moving your aircraft to Atlantic Aviation in Reno if that will make things easier for you.  Atlantic again is hosting your aircraft parking at no cost.

For our neighbors and friends at surrounding airports there is absolutely no transient traffic or landings allowed at RTS from Sunday, Sep 8 – Sunday, Sep 15, 2019.  Please find other places to do your training and recreational flying.

For people with projects or other businesses at RTS, there is no access during race week for people without Air Race tickets.  You may resume your project or activity on Monday, Sep 16th with some constraints.

I will do my best to keep our AWOS tagged with current info and instructions, and keep NOTAM’s current as times for different conditions fluctuate day-to-day.

As someone who experiences both the joys and frustrations we deal with at Air Races, I can’t thank you enough for supporting this GREAT community event once a year.  I am happy to be part of it with all of you.

As always, let me know what questions you have and please share this with others who can benefit from the information here.  Now, let’s DO some racing!
