Beginning Sunday, April 23 thru Monday, May 1, three C-130’s from Coulson will be conducting fire tanker training from the BLM tanker base at RTS.
Coulson is planning 3-4 sorties per day for each aircraft. A Cessna 310 will be here supporting the operations, as well as a King Air on April 29-30.
The tankers will be conducting 3,000 gallon water drops for training well north of RTS.
Aircraft will be parking on or adjacent to the BLM base. The purpose of the training is to accomplish annual certification for fire fighting.
UPDATE 4/21
One of our tenants provided the following information for your situational awareness:
“I am in a position to observe Bedell Flat from my house and consequently I have observed that this is where Coulson (in particular) like to practice. Any aircraft inbound from the North or departing to the North that stay to the west of Peterson Mountain (along Highway 395 or more-westerly) would be completely outside the Coulson area of operations. If Bedell Flat is indeed where Coulson want to practice this year, letting the RTS tenants know more specifics might avoid any potential conflicts.”
Colson has confirmed they are using Bedell Flats, vicinity N39 degrees 51 x W119 50.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
