
SAUA President Thomas J. Hall (“Tom”) has served on the Board of Directors since RSAA’s founding and incorporation in 1996.
Tom is a native of Southern California. He came to UNR in the early ‘60s and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. He earned his law degree from Northwestern University in 1971 and has been practicing real estate law in the Reno-Tahoe area for the past forty-one years. Tom has played a vital role in precedent-setting land use cases at Lake Tahoe. He has also maintained his active license as a Nevada contractor since 1966.
One of Tom’s sons is a pilot and another is in pilot training. Tom makes his home in Washoe Valley with his wife Peggy.
Tom served seven and one-half years in the Nevada Air National Guard, as a sergeant, and was activated during the Pueblo crisis in 1968.
He has served as either a current or past president/chairman of many local organizations including UNR Alumni Association, UNR Foundation, Washoe County Bar Association, Tahoe Sierra Preservation Council, Spanish Springs Presbyterian Church, Skyland Water Company, Washoe Valley Citizens’ Advisory Board, West Washoe Association, Franktown Hills Association, Reno Air Racing Foundation and others.
Tom pilots his own plane, a 1981 Beechcraft Bonanza A36TC, and holds the ratings of SEL, glider and instrument, with over 1,600 hours of flight time logged. His company owns several hangars at Stead.
On July 24, 1996, Tom acted as the incorporator of RSAA, and has served as a Director, Vice President and currently as President, since 2007. He also currently serves as editor of the RSAA Newsletter.
