Pylon Racing Seminar starts Sunday, June 4th through Friday, June 9th.
Attached you will find the Reno Air Race Association letter to Stead tenants regarding the 2023 PRS event along with the informational kneeboard file. This years’ procedures, requirements and restrictions are very similar to the 2022 event – please take the time to go over the letter for your situational awareness and safe operations at our airport during this time.
TFR
A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) will be in effect daily. Before and after the TFR each day, the airport will operate normally. During the daily TFR, non-participating tenant aircraft will only be able to arrive/depart with a PPR during 2 15-minute or 3 10-minute windows each day. This is the same thing we have done during past PRS events. Read the attached letter for operating information in these windows.
RAMP SAFETY
The west ramp will be crowded with race aircraft. Use extra caution driving around the airport hangar and ramp areas because of all the additional aircraft and people.
A No-Prop/Jet Turn Line will be in effect west of the Grandstands during the days/hours of PRS Operations. The double white and red line running west to east and then curving to the south, west of the Grandstands defines this line. No engines/props can be turning south and west of that line. If your aircraft is located at a tie-down/hangar south and west of that line, you must tow/push it to a position north of that line prior to engine start. However, it is permissible to taxi aircraft north and south in the taxi lane west of the grandstands and east of the No-Prop/Jet Turn Line (where it curves south).
Please monitor NOTAMS and the AWOS for daily updates.
Any questions please let me know.
