Dear Stead Tenants,
It’s that time of year again and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Fire Department is revving up for your yearly Stead hangar inspections. I, Captain Gary Purdum, will be working with Dani Austin to schedule days throughout the summer months. The time frame will be from early-May to mid-July. There is no way we can coordinate with everyone’s schedule so we will try to work with you as best as we can. Be advised due to limited staffing and possible shift movements we might have to reschedule days, but we will try to give you as much time as possible if we have to change or cancel days. I want to assure you that safety is our top priority and that we are not here to inconvenience you. Although some fire codes may seem frivolous, they were put in place for a reason and we are simply there to enforce said rules. Fire codes change throughout the year and we will make sure that we keep you informed of any changes and how they affect you. This year we will be following International Fire Code 2014 edition. Dani will be sending out the same flyer she did last year on what our inspectors are looking. ABC Fire will be out here to do the extinguisher inspections onApril 18th, please bring your extinguishers to the main Stead terminal building between the 16th and the 18th to Dani Austin; you can retrieve them on the 19th. The cost for the extinguisher inspection is $15, $20 if your “12 year hydro inspection” is due, please have exact change or check made out to “ABC Fire”.
